Garden of Shadows

Well I've converted one of my favorite hairstyles from peggy for my own uses and i figured i share with a place that would enjoy it :)


Like most other hair meshes right now there are some funky properties to things.
-Weird look in bodycas
-weird animation when the head moves
-minor clipping with LARGE sims and other things.


the mesh isn't perfect but it really looks great in game and its perfect for screenshots!

PS. I hand painted the highlights and tips and roots :) so i hope you enjoy it!

O and Ill be posting my next peggy conversions here and then my own meshes ill post at my website so just watch for that! 8)

I'm having some issues with this hair:

All the other hairs I have work like a charm, so I'm afraid that it's not my computer but a problem with the textures. Well, I can guess others can confirm it but I just thought that I would let you know.

I'm also having issues with: your balenciaga leggings (which make all the body to go white), the Alexander Mcqueen dress (which still appears as naked after redownloading) and one of the last shoes you have released (which make my game crash when I selected the shoes category - can't tell you which one because I had to take them both out of the game to stop the crashing). I redownloaded everything just now and I still have the same issues. So I don't have a clue if I'm just having just bad luck with your items, but it doesn't happen with anything else so I'm a bit clueless here x_x.

Im going to contact Wes_h about all this hair problem stuff. I've had four of my friends test this download before i put it up here and i had no problems so this is really mind boggling to me.

and as far as the other downloads, the shoes i don't know about! ill have to talk to thomas at TSR about it because i was just trying out the workshop tool and it seemed like it worked all good. once again i had my friends test it with no problem so... poo

also, your telling me that you just downloaded the balenciaga leggings and it didn't work? because i had the moderators test it at MODTHESIMS and it came back with flying colors.

do you have any mods in your game? or do you have the latest patch?

I have the same problem with the Balenciaga leggings, the upper body turns white from the neck down through even the arms. My game is set to high detail for everything and that is the only problem I have had. When I tried to reinstall them and select them I had the same problem and got an error message. I have awesome mod and indie stone mods plus a few other tuning mods.

I really like this hair and am going to try it out in a few minutes. Thank you for all the work and time you put into them. Hopefully I can use the leggings soon because I really like them!

Edit: Yes I have the latest patch installed. Thought that information may be needed too.

my sim looked exactly as m.caleros looks in game, even with the weird different coloured strip at the back..
your screen shot look amazing though, id love to use it =]

I have the same problem with the Balenciaga leggings, and the dress.  With the leggings, my sim's body turns completely white, and with the dress, it shows up nude in the game.

Ugh, I have the same problem as M.Calero. I would really love to use this hair. :( It too was one of my favorites from good ole sims 2 days.

UPDATE:

HP at modthesims is looking at the package right now and trying to figure out what's up with the hair.

Im going to do some testing as well to see if i can get it figured out tonight.

Check back tomorrow and ill hopefully have things fixed.

And best thing is, everything works! No crashes, no weird glitches nothing. I guess some people complain majorly is because they have so many MODS in their game that whenever they download a new custom content, they just blame it on the new one & not the MODS.

Either that or they're working on low end PCs. Am running a MacBook Pro & nothing, ABSOLUTELY no problems, patches & all. Well, I don't use any MODS, so. .. .


Aaanyway, this runway hair doesn't look perfectly black on my sim. It's silvery gray liquidy almost like a smoky diamond. .. . AND I AM LOVING IT! Turns out better than raven black!

pffft i havnt downloaded indiestone or any mods... just patches clothes and hairs...and my comps from cyberpower so there... and it still doesnt work lol

I don't see anyone "complaining". We are informing the creator of a glitch / bug that has occured when using this item ingame. Not sure about the others experiencing this but I'm also not running on a "low end PC".
You say it looks silvery gray liquid looking, well sorry to burst your bubble but I think you are experiencing the same glitch as it's clearly not supposed to look like that. Lastly, you do in fact use mods, this is one :P

ANYWAY...I too had the same going on as what M.Calero was having, I have removed the hair for now and await an update if that's in the pipeline. Great work though, and thank you for the hair as I rather liked this one previously too! :D

While I like the hairstyle, the texturing is definitely not to my tastes. It doesn't look realistic, but instead shows up very shiny and streaky in spots. Nice effort... hopefully it will be fixed soon.

I have the same problem with the hair M Calero.

ok well i hate to turn this into a testing zone here... but i have two new files if anyone wants to test them for me. Id test them myself, but my game isn't showing the issue so i cant say if its fixed or not.

You'll have to delete the old package (or move it out of the mods folder) or the hair wont show the updated one.

*note these are not the final version. I've decided I'm going to retexture the hair a bit, and then I'm also going to work on making the animation a bit more smooth.

There are a few minor hair texture problems. Nothing serious. And I agree with you, some more smoothening will definitely help.

can you tell me which file worked best for you?

hey aldehydebends , i've tested out both hairs as well and I would have to say I like the first one better. In my opinion. ;) hope this helps.

I've tested the two new files you posted, and the first one didn't work for me.  When I put it in, none of the custom hairs I had in my game, including that one, worked.  So I tried the second one, and here's what it looked like:

I prefer the 1st one. As you can see on my screenshots, transparency are less as compared to the 2nd.

But I have t admit, it does need some tweaking.

this wasn't the type of results i was expecting, the two files differ in that one is closer to the scalp (before i guess it floated i was told) soo the transparencies and stuff aren't any different.

I prefer AldehydebendsPeggyRunwayWave3.package since it sits closer to the scalp, but it does have a texture clipping issue at the scalp.

AldehydebendsPeggyRunwayWave.package does not have the tex clipping problem but I assume that is because it sits higher on the scalp.

AldehydebendsPeggyRunwayWave works fine for me :-), the other one had a strange issue: the scalp popped out through the hair.

All of the others give me that shiny bug.  But the 3rd one only has it on the top.
